Azerbaijan warns citizens against joining foreign armed conflicts
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has warned the country's citizens against participating in armed conflicts abroad, saying such involvement is a criminal offence under Azerbaijani law.
Speaking at a joint briefing in Baku with Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Bayramov said people were recruited to foreign conflicts through various promises and other means, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
"It is carried out through various promises and different methods. Once again, I appeal to our citizens: this is considered a criminal offence in Azerbaijan and constitutes a violation of the law. Such actions carry legal consequences, including the revocation of Azerbaijani citizenship," Bayramov said.
