Azerbaijan weighs ending EU Parliament ties
European Parliament could face a formal break in ties with Azerbaijan as Baku weighs ending all interaction with the EU institution over what it describes as a biased stance towards the country, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The source told Trend that Azerbaijan, which had already effectively suspended contacts with the European Parliament, is now considering a complete severance of relations. Discussions on the issue are currently ongoing.
The move comes amid growing tensions over the European Parliament resolution on "Supporting democratic resilience in Armenia."
While the resolution is presented as backing Armenia’s democratic development, Azerbaijani officials argue that it contains what they describe as unfounded accusations and demands directed at Baku.
