Azerbaijan welcomes US condemnation of Iran’s drone attacks

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has expressed its appreciation for the United States Department of State’s condemnation of recent drone attacks by Iran on Azerbaijani territory.

In an official commentary, Azerbaijan noted that the U.S. statement demonstrates Washington’s solidarity and support for its partners. The statement, the Azerbaijani side said, “fully corresponds to the letter and spirit of the Charter on Strategic Partnership between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United States of America,” signed on 10 February 2026.

The commentary highlighted that, amid heightened regional tensions, multiple countries have shown support and solidarity with Azerbaijan. However, the support of the United States, described as “the most powerful country in the world,” carries particular significance, the statement added.

Azerbaijan concluded by expressing gratitude to the United States for its principled position and ongoing support.
