Azerbaijani ambassador visits HUM Network to boost media cooperation with Pakistan
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, accompanied by his wife, Tarana Farhadova, and Second Secretary Behbud Gadali, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of HUM Network Limited in Islamabad.
The delegation was warmly received by HUM Network’s management and briefed on the company’s operational framework, diverse media platforms, and its contribution to Pakistan’s media industry, Caliber.Az reports, citing Pakistan's news outlet.
During the visit, Ambassador Farhadov commended HUM Network for promoting progressive content and expressed particular appreciation for its efforts to empower women in media. He emphasised the importance of enhancing media cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan as a means to strengthen cultural and bilateral ties.
The visit concluded with an expression of mutual goodwill and a shared commitment to deepening collaboration between the two nations through media and cultural exchange.
In an earlier development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on the peace agreement with Armenia, which ended a decades-long conflict.
In a phone call, PM Sharif lauded Aliyev’s “bold and wise leadership” for bringing stability and opening a new era of development in the Caucasus.
He also praised US President Donald Trump for his role in facilitating the agreement. President Aliyev, in turn, thanked Pakistan for its consistent support in the Karabakh dispute, recalling Islamabad’s solidarity during military confrontations with Armenia.
PM Sharif invited Aliyev to visit Pakistan, with a meeting between the two leaders also expected at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit on August 31.
