A Turkish delegation, comprising senior officials from Türkiye’s National Defence University, Air Force and Navy Institutes, as well as instructors and attendees of the “Staff Management Course,” continues its visit to Azerbaijan.

The delegation visited an Azerbaijani Air Force unit in accordance with the visit programme, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Defence Ministry.

The Turkish guests received a detailed briefing on the history, structure, and activities of the unit, including its significant role in the 44-day Patriotic War, which culminated in a decisive victory for the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Following the briefing, the delegation was shown a range of aircraft and aviation equipment currently in service with the unit, alongside a comprehensive overview of their tactical and technical specifications.

The visitors also toured the unit’s Training Centre, where Turkish officers were given the opportunity to conduct practical firing exercises on an air defence training system.

Subsequently, the delegation visited the Military Games Centre at the Military Scientific Research Institute of the National Defence University. Here, they were briefed on the military education system, ongoing reforms in military training, and scientific-educational activities undertaken by the university.

At the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute, the delegation received a presentation covering the institute’s history and academic programmes. Turkish guests also explored the museum’s photo exhibition, which highlighted the contributions of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Azerbaijan’s independence, state-building, and military development, along with other exhibits of interest.

The programme included a visit to a naval unit of the Azerbaijani Navy, where the delegation reviewed the weaponry and technical equipment of the naval special forces and observed live demonstrations by marine infantry troops.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Azerbaijan Military History Museum, rounding off a comprehensive introduction to the country’s defence capabilities and military heritage.
