Azerbaijan and Armenia held the 13th meeting of their state border delimitation commissions on April 29, 2026, in Armenia’s Aghveran, where both sides exchanged draft instructions governing the technical procedures for ongoing delimitation work.

The meeting was co-chaired by Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. It marked another session hosted on the territory of one of the parties, Caliber.Az reports via state media.

The parties agreed upon and exchanged the texts of draft instructions governing the procedure for conducting delimitation works, including:

“Instruction on the Procedure for the Work of Delimitation Expert Groups during the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”;

• “Instruction on the Procedure for the Preparation of a Delimitation Map of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”;

• “Instruction on the Procedure for the Formalization and Publication of Documents on the Delimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia”.

The drafts will be submitted to the governments of both countries for approval.

The two deputy prime ministers also held separate discussions on issues of mutual interest. The sides noted that cargo transit to Armenia through Azerbaijan is continuing successfully. They also stated that Azerbaijan is supplying petroleum products to Armenia, reflecting the development of trade and economic relations.

In addition, representatives of the business communities of both countries took part in discussions on expanding trade, supplies of goods and services, and transit transportation.

The sides stressed that the progress achieved was made possible by the political will of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

A protocol was signed following the meeting. The parties agreed to determine the date of the next meeting through working-level contacts, with the next session to be held in Azerbaijan.
