Azerbaijani army begins regular training sessions for military reservists

The Azerbaijani army has commenced its regular training sessions for the year, as part of the nation’s military development plan.

These sessions involve a group of military reservists, who have been called up for training and are undergoing preparation to enhance their combat readiness, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

Upon arrival at the training camp, the conscripts underwent registration, and medical examinations, and were provided with necessary military uniforms and equipment. 

The primary goal of these training sessions is to improve the combat training, knowledge, and practical skills of the reservists. The camps are designed to raise the overall proficiency of conscripts, ensuring they are prepared for any operational needs.

Earlier, on January 31, a successful training camp for military reservists was concluded as part of Azerbaijan’s 2025 training plan. This camp, organized in collaboration with the State Service for Mobilization and Recruitment, focused on both theoretical and practical military training.

A closing ceremony was held to mark the conclusion of these training sessions, with a moment of silence observed in honour of national leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's independence and territorial integrity. The ceremony included the playing of the Azerbaijani National Anthem.

During the camp, conscripts participated in a range of activities, including formation drills, tactical exercises, military-medical training, and specialized courses. The training familiarized participants with modern military equipment and the operational procedures of the Azerbaijani army.

Furthermore, the camp focused on enhancing the moral and psychological readiness of the reservists, with educational discussions promoting national values, patriotism, and statehood.

The Ministry of Defence emphasized that all objectives of the training camp were successfully achieved. In recognition of their exceptional performance, certificates of honour were awarded to individuals who distinguished themselves during the training sessions.
