Azerbaijani Army holds military oath-taking ceremonies for young soldiers PHOTO
Young soldiers took the military oath in ceremonies held across the Azerbaijan Army on August 16 in accordance with the 2026 training plan approved by Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.
The ceremonies opened with the battle flags being brought to the parade grounds accompanied by military orchestras, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry.
A minute of silence was first observed in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. The national anthem of Azerbaijan was then performed.
The young soldiers solemnly took the military oath, pledging their loyalty to the Motherland.
Speaking at the ceremonies, representatives of the Ministry of Defence and commanders of military units congratulated the young soldiers on the significant occasion and called on them to remain loyal to the Motherland, the state, and the Commander-in-Chief. They urged the recruits to serve as exemplary soldiers, thoroughly master the secrets of weapons and military equipment, continuously improve their combat training, precisely and promptly carry out orders from their commanders, and remain constantly ready to defend Azerbaijani lands.
Participants of the ceremonies expressed their pride in the young soldiers taking the military oath and thanked the head of state and the leadership of the Ministry of Defence for the conditions created for military service.
The ceremonies concluded with servicemen marching solemnly in front of the grandstand.
Following the ceremonies, cultural and mass events were held at military units in a patriotic spirit.
