Azerbaijani Army, Oklahoma National Guard mark 20th anniversary of partnership PHOTO
An event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the partnership program with the state, signed between the Azerbaijani Army and the Oklahoma National Guard was held in the US city of Oklahoma. The event was held on the initiative of the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States, with the support of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, the Governor's Office of Oklahoma, and the National Guard.
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Trend that the delegation led by First Deputy Defence Minister - Chief of General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Kerim Veliyev visited the United States to participate in the event.
Governor of Oklahoma State John Kevin Stitt, Commander of the National Guard Thomas Mancino, Colonel General Kerim Veliyev, and Azerbaijani Ambassador to the United States Khazar Ibrahim spoke of the activities carried out for 20 years, mutual visits, including cooperation in education, energy, agriculture, and other spheres, and expressed confidence that these relations will strengthen further.
Information was also presented on construction and restoration works in Azerbaijani lands liberated from occupation after 44 days of the Patriotic War and leading companies of Oklahoma were invited to invest in different spheres in these territories, particularly in the sphere of renewable energy sources.
Following the speeches, Colonel General Veliyev presented the governor of Oklahoma and the commander of the Oklahoma National Guard with a commemorative plaque marking the 20th anniversary of the partnership program with the state. The governor, in turn, declared September 19 as the signing day for the Azerbaijani Army - Oklahoma National Guard partnership program in the state.
In the artistic part of the event, the soloist of a separate exemplary military orchestra of the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan, tar player Arslan Novrasli, soloist of the International Mugham Centre, kamancha performer Elnur Mikailov and Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, pianist Nargiz Aliyeva performed works by both Azerbaijani and foreign composers.
