Azerbaijani army's 2020 victory seen as major factor in ensuring regional peace
The Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) and all Turkic peoples honour with deep respect and gratitude the memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for fraternal Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.
"September 27 is a day of remembrance and mourning for the martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan," Report informs quoting Amreyev's letter.
"The history written by the victorious Azerbaijani army under Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev's leadership is a solid foundation for the development and prosperity of Azerbaijan and an important factor in ensuring lasting peace and security in the region," the statement reads.
Today marks two years since the beginning of the Patriotic War. On September 27, 2020, the Azerbaijani Army under Aliyev's leadership launched a counter-offensive operation along the entire front line in order to prevent military provocations, and combat activity of the Armenian armed forces and to ensure the safety of the civilian population.
This day is celebrated in Azerbaijan as Remembrance Day to commemorate Azerbaijani servicemen, who were martyred during the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020.
