Azerbaijani army undergoes shelling from Armenian troops
Over the past day, the positions of the Azerbaijani army were targeted by Armenian armed groups 8 times.
Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry's statement that 7 shellings were launched from Armenian positions in Basarkechar, Chambarak, Tovuzgala, and Gorus regions of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border from small arms of a different caliber.
Another shelling was carried out by members of illegal Armenian armed groups on the territory of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, toward Azerbaijani Army positions in the Kalbajar region.
No reports on personnel and equipment losses of the Azerbaijani Army.
The armed incidents were reported to the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and the joint Russian-Turkish monitoring center.
“The entire responsibility for the tension that has recently escalated on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border lies with the military-political leadership of Armenia,” the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a statement.
