Azerbaijani defence chief, incoming Turkish military attaché discuss military cooperation PHOTO
General Soner Orucoglu, Türkiye 's newly appointed military attaché in Azerbaijan, was presented to Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov on September 6.
At the meeting Zakir Hasanov expressed gratitude for the moral and political support provided by brotherly Türkiye to Azerbaijan in the Second Garabagh War (2020), the Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
He emphasized the exceptional influence of sincere relations between the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Türkiye on the level of cooperation in the military and other spheres.
The minister informed Soner Orucoglu of the reforms carried out in the Azerbaijani army under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, the work carried out in the liberated territories, as well as the operational situation on the conditional Azerbaijani-Armenian border and in the Garabagh economic region.
Soner Orucoglu assured that he would make every effort to develop Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, including cooperation in the military sphere.
At the meeting, the sides had a detailed exchange of views on the prospects of cooperation in military, military-technical, military-educational spheres, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
The military attaché also met with First Deputy Defence Minister, Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev and Commander of the Navy Vice-Admiral Subhan Bakirov.
