Azerbaijani defence delegation attends 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition PHOTO
A delegation headed by Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, Deputy Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan and Commander of the Air Force, has completed a working visit to the People's Republic of China.
The purpose of the visit was to participate in the 15th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, held in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, Caliber.Az reports referring to the press service of Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan.
The exhibition, which attracted over 100 nations' Air Force commanders and high-ranking officials, as well as representatives from international and regional organisations, provided a platform for significant discussions.
During the event, Lieutenant General Islamzade met with General Chang Dingqiu, Commander of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force. The two leaders discussed the current state and potential future developments of military and technical cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Chinese Air Forces. Lieutenant General Islamzade expressed his appreciation to General Chang for extending the invitation to the exhibition.
In addition to the meeting with General Chang, Lieutenant General Islamzade held talks with the commanders of the Belarusian and Iranian Air Forces, as well as the Deputy Commander of the Russian Air Force. He also engaged with senior officials from several companies within China’s State Defence Industrial Complex. The discussions focused on areas of mutual interest and opportunities for deeper cooperation.
The exhibition showcased an impressive range of over 260 types of military equipment from China’s defence industry, including fighter jets, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the HQ-9BE surface-to-air missile system, YJ-12E anti-ship hypersonic cruise missiles, counter-drone technologies, military vehicles, and other cutting-edge military innovations.
