Azerbaijani defence delegation joins anniversary event in Sofia Photo

A delegation from the National Defence University of the Republic of Azerbaijan has taken part in a formal event in Sofia marking the 113th anniversary of the establishment of Bulgaria’s G.S. Rakovski National Defence College.

As part of the visit, Major General Arif Hasanov, Deputy Rector for Science and Rector of the Military Scientific Research Institute, held talks with Major General Stayko Prokopiev, head of the G.S. Rakovski College, Caliber.Az reports via Defence Ministry.

The two sides delivered briefings and held wide-ranging discussions on potential areas for bilateral cooperation in military education.

General Hasanov shared details about reforms underway within the Azerbaijan Army, including efforts to enhance the educational process at the National Defence University. He noted improvements stemming from recent structural changes and the integration of technological advancements.

Both parties underscored the importance of maintaining stable and effective collaboration between the two defence education institutions.

The Azerbaijani delegation also met with Azerbaijani cadets currently enrolled at the college. They reviewed the students' academic progress, living conditions and overall training environment. University representatives fielded questions and listened to feedback from the cadets regarding their experiences.
