Azerbaijani defence minister extends condolences to Pakistan
Azerbaijani Defence Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has extended his condolences to General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan, in the wake of a deadly terrorist attack in the country’s northwestern region.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defence, Colonel General Hasanov expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and injuries sustained by personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces as a result of the treacherous assault, Caliber.Az reports.
“I was deeply saddened by the news that a group of servicemen of the Pakistan Armed Forces were martyred and injured as a result of a treacherous terrorist attack in the northwestern region of Pakistan,” the statement read.
The Azerbaijani defence minister conveyed his prayers for the souls of the fallen, offered condolences to their families, and wished a swift recovery to those injured.
At least 12 soldiers were killed in an ambush by the Pakistani Taliban in northwest Pakistan on September 13, according to local government and security officials.
