Azerbaijani defence minister off to Kyrgyzstan
At the invitation of Kyrgyz Defense Minister Lt-Gen Baktybek Bekbolotov, Azerbaijani Defence Minister Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov has embarked on an official visit to Kyrgyzstan.
The visit aims to strengthen military cooperation and enhance bilateral relations between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports.
Several meetings involving Col-Gen Hasanov are scheduled during the visit, where discussions are expected to cover various aspects of defence collaboration and regional security.
Notably, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan have been working to strengthen their defence cooperation in recent years, driven by shared interests in regional security and stability.
Both countries have signed various agreements aimed at enhancing military cooperation, including protocols on mutual assistance in military training and exercises. These agreements are designed to facilitate collaboration in defence policy, strategic planning, and operational readiness.
Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan have participated in joint military exercises, which help improve interoperability between their armed forces.
