Azerbaijani defense ministry reports on implementation of communication strategy in 2022

Azerbaijan's defense ministry looks back at the relevant steps taken in 2022 in order to achieve the objectives set by its communication strategy department and provides detailed figures on its performance. 

In order to provide the public with accurate, detailed and timely information on the activities of the ministry, more than 1,000 pieces of information in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages were posted in 2022 on the Ministry's official website.

According to the defence structure's own information, over 6,000 pieces of information were shared on various official social media platforms, including Facebook (1,200), Telegram (2,300), Instagram (1,250), and up to 1900 posts were posted on Twitter.

Regarding media material, up to 5,000 photos and more than 360 videos related to the military and other events were posted on the structure's official website.

About 250 appeals were received from the mass media and were permitted to film at areas the ministry holds responsibility for, with 103 events of media representatives having been organized that year.

The ministry organized 43 media tours to visit various troops of the Azerbaijan Army, departments and services of the Ministry, as well as special educational institutions, especially to military units and combat positions in the liberated territories. As part of those tours, journalists met with servicemen, interviewed them, and got acquainted with the organization of service and combat activities of military personnel, as well as their social and living conditions and logistic support.

6 press briefings were held in order to inform the public about the provocations committed by the Armenian armed forces and members of an illegal Armenian armed detachment in the territory of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeepers are temporarily deployed, as well as about the measures taken against them by the Azerbaijan Army.

A total of 35,500 appeals from the public were received through the appeals section on the official website and the e-mail address of the defense ministry and were directed to the relevant authorities and responded to.

In order to study the advanced practices in the field of communications, relevant working meetings with media research institutes were conducted, and up to 30 servicemen participated in international events held in foreign countries.

The ministry states that these activities will be continued in 2023 to achieve the objectives set in accordance with the requirements of the ministry's communication strategy department.
