Azerbaijani delegation visits Côte d’Ivoire to boost bilateral cooperation PHOTO
A high-level Azerbaijani delegation visited Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on 5 March to strengthen political and economic ties between the two countries.
The delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was led by Deputy Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, while SOCAR’s team was headed by President Rovshan Najaf, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry.
During the visit, Deputy Minister Rafiyev held a one-on-one meeting with Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Diaspora, Niale Kaba. The officials discussed the growing partnership between the two nations and highlighted opportunities for expanding multilateral cooperation.
The first-ever political consultations between the foreign ministries were also held, bringing together deputy ministers, ambassadors, and senior officials from both sides. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, advancing shared foreign policy priorities, and exploring regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The visit also included meetings between SOCAR’s President and Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Mines, Petroleum, and Energy, the Directorate General for Hydrocarbons, and the national oil company, PetroCI. Energy cooperation, joint oil and gas projects, investment opportunities, and energy security were key topics.
Officials noted that the developing political relations provide a solid foundation for expanding collaboration in economic, energy, digital technologies, agriculture, and cultural-humanitarian fields.
