Azerbaijani deputy FM addresses Manama Dialogue Forum
The 20th Security Summit - the Manama Dialogue Forum, has officially got underway in Bahrain, gathering diplomats, and representatives from security and military sectors of nearly 50 countries worldwide.
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev is attending the event, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry.
Rafiyev participated in various panel discussions at the forum, including delivering a speech at a session organized by the Young Leaders Program on the topic of "Energy Partnership in the Middle East and Central Asia."
Additionally, Rafiyev is expected to engage in several bilateral meetings throughout the duration of the forum, which will run until December 8.
Held annually since 2004 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Dialogue is a central element of the Middle East’s security architecture. It enables national leaders, ministers and policymakers from the Middle East, North America, Europe, Africa and Asia to gather together to discuss the most pressing regional security issues and to share policy responses.
The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Manama Dialogue is a unique forum for government ministers and policymakers, as well as members of the expert, opinion-forming and business communities, to debate the Middle East’s most pressing foreign-policy, defence and security challenges.
