Azerbaijani embassy in Beirut comes under violent attack of Armenian nationalists VIDEO
Representatives of the Armenian diaspora in Lebanon staged a provocation outside the Azerbaijani Embassy in Beirut on September 28.
An eyewitness said the scandalous attempt was organised by the local branch of the Armenian Dashnaktsutyun party, Report says, citing the Lebanese MTV channel.
“The protesters behaved aggressively and hurled stones at the diplomatic mission building,” he said.
Police fired tear gas grenades and pushed the crowd away from the embassy building. Several injuries were reported, with protesters also resorting to use firecrackers during the violent protest.
Lebanon is home to one of the largest Armenian communities in the Middle East, totalling around 150,000.
