Azerbaijani embassy in Iran to resume consular services soon
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has announced that the Consular Section of the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran will resume activity starting from December 15, 2024.

As a result of negotiations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Azerbaijani Embassy in this country has resumed its activity at a new location since July 15.
The embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran was attacked on January 27, 2023. The perpetrator passed by the guard post with a Kalashnikov rifle and opened fire inside the embassy, while its staff tried to neutralize him. The head of the embassy's security service, Orkhan Asgarov, was killed in the attack, while two guards were injured. Shortly after, a suspect was detained by Iranian police.
