Azerbaijani embassy organises Victory Day reception in Russia PHOTO
Azerbaijan's embassy in the Russian Federation has organised a reception dedicated to the Victory Day.
According to the embassy, during the event, Ambassador Polad Bulbuloglu noted that November 8 is of great importance not only as a day of national pride, it also marks historical justice, the triumph of international law and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, Report informs.
The ambassador pointed out that despite the severe consequences of the occupation, Azerbaijan has initiated a process of normalisation of interstate relations with Armenia based on mutual recognition and respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The diplomat added that Azerbaijan will continue to be ready by all available means to repel any forces claiming its ancestral territories: "Today, large-scale work is being carried out to restore, rehabilitate, reconstruct and reintegrate the territories affected by the conflict. Work is also in full swing on the restoration and restoration of religious and historical architectural monuments destroyed during the war. New towns and villages are being built on the liberated territories using modern urban planning methods based on the concepts of 'smart city' and 'smart village'. And already the first dozens of families have returned to the village of Aghali in the Zangilan district, which was wiped off the face of the earth."
The ambassador concluded his speech with a quote from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev: "From now on we will live forever as a victorious people, a victorious state."
The event was attended by high-ranking diplomats of the diplomatic corps, military attaches, MP Nizami Safarov, participant of the 44-day Patriotic War Kamal Guluzade, employees of the representative office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia, activists of the Azerbaijani Youth Organisation of Russia, political scientists, prominent representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
