Azerbaijani envoy to Russia blames Armenia, separatist regime for exodus of Armenians from Karabakh UPDATED

The responsibility for the departure of Armenian residents from Azerbaijan lies with Armenia and the separatist regime under its control, Azerbaijani Ambassador in Russia Polad Bulbuloglu said while receiving incoming British Ambassador to Russia Nigel Casey, Report informs.

The Azerbaijani ambassador congratulated his colleague on his appointment to a responsible and honorable position, wishing him success in his future activities.

He informed the guest about his activities as the dean of the diplomatic corps in Russia, about events held jointly with the Russian Foreign Ministry, and significant cultural events.

During the conversation, Polad Bulbuloglu told his colleague in detail about Azerbaijan’s humanitarian measures for the voluntary resettlement of the Armenian population, especially emphasizing that, as representatives of international organizations confirmed, in this process, no violence was used against the civilian population, and responsibility for the departure of Armenian residents from Azerbaijan is being borne by Armenia and the separatist regime under its control.

The Azerbaijani ambassador provided detailed information on the practical activities of the Azerbaijani government to reintegrate the Armenian residents living in the Karabakh region into the legal and socio-economic fabric of Azerbaijani society. He noted that the relevant government structures of Azerbaijan in Khankendi continue to provide humanitarian and social assistance.

Along with this, Polad Bulbuloglu told the British ambassador about the large-scale construction and restoration work being carried out by the Azerbaijani government in the liberated territories, especially emphasizing that according to the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, dated November 28, 2023, the Karabakh University is being created in Khankendi.

During the meeting, some aspects of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UK were discussed, and a detailed exchange of views took place on other issues of mutual interest.

The British ambassador thanked Polad Bulbuloglu for the warm welcome and interesting conversation.

In the end, the Azerbaijani ambassador presented his colleague with the book “Karabakh before and after the occupation” published by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
