Azerbaijani FM: Armenia manipulating world with alleged "tense humanitarian situation" in region
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said that Armenia keeps manipulating the world with a claim of an alleged "tense humanitarian situation" in the region.
Bayramov made the remarks in a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.
During the phone conversation, they discussed the agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia, the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as the current situation in the region.
Bayramov noted that the activation of Armenia's military-political provocations against Azerbaijan contrary to the norms and principles of international law has dealt a serious blow to the normalization process between the two countries.
By continuing to manipulate the allegedly "tense humanitarian situation" and "blockade" in the region, Armenia, instead of following the agreements reached to resolve issues related to the use of the Lachin road and other alternative routes to meet the needs of the Armenian residents of Karabakh, is obstructing the peace process.
Lavrov stressed the importance of adherence to the commitments enshrined in the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020, signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia and Armenia.
During the telephone conversation, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
