Azerbaijani FM Bayramov to attend intergovernmental commission meeting in Kuwait
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov is set to visit Kuwait on April 29-30 to participate in a meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission, Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev has said.
During a press conference following his meeting with Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Rafiyev emphasized the importance of high-level visits in strengthening bilateral relations.
“We have held meetings at the level of deputy ministers, and the visit of our Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, is scheduled for 29–30 April,” he said.
He also noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev had extended an invitation to Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to visit Azerbaijan. “We hope that His Highness will visit Azerbaijan this year,” Rafiyev added.
The last session of the Azerbaijan-Kuwait intergovernmental commission took place in Baku on 14 February 2013.
The commission is co-chaired by the Azerbaijani foreign minister.
