Azerbaijani FM briefs EU special envoy on state of normalization with Armenia PHOTO
European Union’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus reiterated the union's support to Azerbaijan backing the progress achieved at the Washington summit with neighbouring Armenia.
The special envoy, Magdalena Grono, extended this support during her meeting with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, Caliber.Az reports referring to the diplomatic body.
According to the ministry's statement, the meeting focused on the current state and future prospects of Azerbaijan–EU cooperation, as well as the process of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, along with regional and international issues.
Bayramov and Grono discussed the wide range of avenues along which bilateral cooperation is taking place, including political, economic, transport, and energy security, emphasizing the importance of dialogue within various platforms.
Both sides expressed satisfaction with the high-level meetings and contacts held in recent months and stressed the importance of continuing efforts in this direction.
Bayramov, responding to Grono's message of support for the outcomes of the Washington summit, informed his counterpart about the progress and prospects of the Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization and peace process, once again outlining his country’s position on the matter.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
