Azerbaijani FM calls for solidarity, regional stability at iftar with Muslim diplomats PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov participated in an iftar event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for ambassadors of Muslim countries accredited to Azerbaijan, in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan.
During the event, Minister Bayramov extended his heartfelt congratulations to the attendees, emphasizing the significance of Ramadan as a time that unites the Muslim world through its shared spiritual values, Caliber.Az reports via Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
He underlined the importance of solidarity and unity in the face of contemporary challenges, such as religious discrimination and Islamophobia.
Bayramov also addressed the ongoing post-conflict developments in the South Caucasus region. He highlighted the successful conclusion of negotiations on the peace treaty and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
However, he reiterated Azerbaijan's stance on the need for constitutional amendments in Armenia to remove territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Additionally, he called for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group and related structures, which Azerbaijan views as irrelevant to the current peace process.
The event concluded with a prayer led by a representative of the Caucasus Muslims Office, followed by an iftar meal shared by the participants.
