Azerbaijani FM, CICMA executive director engage on chairmanship priorities & collaboration

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met Executive Director of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICMA) Kairat Sarybay.

The meeting discussed possible priorities and plans for Azerbaijan's chairmanship in CICMA for 2024-2026, current work within the organization, and prospects, the Foreign Ministry informed Caliber.Az.

Kairat Sarybay noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan has always taken an active part in CICMA and conveyed his sincere congratulations on the occasion of Azerbaijan's election as chairman of the organization. Saying that such topics as transport communications and the environment are among the most urgent for CICMA at present, Kairat Sarybay noted Azerbaijan's constructive position on these issues.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the transformation of CICMA, preparations for the upcoming summit and ministerial meeting chaired by Azerbaijan, cooperation opportunities within COP29, as well as regional issues.
