Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock on 11 June 2024 as part of his working visit to Germany.
During the meeting, the ministers noted that they attach great importance to Azerbaijani-German relations and are interested in further expansion of cooperation, the Foreign Ministry's press service told Caliber.Az.
Bayramov emphasised that Azerbaijan has additional opportunities for cooperation with the German side this year within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). In this context, he noted the importance of the joint successful organization of the Petersberg Dialogue, as well as the ongoing Bonn Conference.
Speaking about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, the process of normalisation of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Bayramov noted the existing problems and opportunities within the peace process. He noted that the continuing claims to the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the Constitution of Armenia are an obstacle to the signing of a peace agreement.
