Azerbaijani FM highlights unity as core pillar of Organization of Turkic States
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the strength of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) lies in its unity, shared values, and a common vision.
He made remarks during a speech at an informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OTS held on April 18 within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, expressing confidence that further expansion of cooperation will strengthen the organisation’s role in addressing regional and global challenges, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Bayramov positively assessed the regular holding of informal Council meetings, emphasising their importance for open and effective discussion of issues on the organisation’s agenda, as well as for exchanging views on the rapidly changing global and regional environment.
It was noted that in a period marked by profound transformation in international relations, increasing geopolitical fragmentation, growing uncertainty in global governance, and escalating conflicts and crises in various regions, the role of the OTS has become even more relevant.
In light of recent developments in the Middle East, the meeting also discussed the impact of the crisis on regional security, global and regional supply chains, as well as economic and investment relations.
The importance of practical and sustainable strategies was emphasised to ensure that progress achieved through ceasefire efforts and mediation leads to lasting peace.
The participants also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
