Azerbaijani FM hosts US envoys to discuss bilateral ties, Washington agreements
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met on September 30 with Wyatt Toehlke, Senior Advisor at the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, and Amy Carlon, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Baku.
Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az that the high-level discussions covered a wide range of issues, including bilateral Azerbaijan–U.S. relations, the memorandum of understanding on establishing a strategic working group to prepare a Strategic Partnership Charter, and the ongoing normalisation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The officials also focused on ensuring the effective implementation of prior Washington agreements in this context. Regional and international security challenges were another key topic of the talks.
The meeting highlighted the importance of mutual visits by officials from both countries, which are seen as vital to deepening bilateral ties. In addition, participants exchanged views on other issues of shared interest, reinforcing the commitment to close cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States.
