Azerbaijani FM informs US official about illegal activities on Lachin road

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has informed US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried about the illegal activities carried out on Lachin road.

During the phone call on December 8, the sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of the Azerbaijani-Armenia peace process, as well as on various issues on the agenda of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the US, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.

Bayramov spoke about the current negotiations on a peace agreement, the work on opening routes and efforts on the border delimitation. Moreover, recent illegal actions taken by using the Lachin road were noted.

Donfried stressed that the US supports efforts to ensure regional stability.

She said that it was important to move the peace process forward in line with the agreements reached between leaders and ministers.
