Azerbaijani FM, Israeli parliament delegation discuss multilateral cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has received an Israeli Knesset delegation led by the chairman of the Foreign Relations and Defense Committee Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, as well as head of the Committee on Diplomatic Affairs Sarah Zwebner and committee member Ram Ben Barak.
The meeting discussed current issues on the multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Israel, including developments in the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Bayramov noted with satisfaction that the relations developed in various fields during the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations have reached the level of strategic partnership.
Referring to his official visit to the State of Israel in March, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that mutual visits, political dialogue and close contacts play an important role in the development of relations.
Bayramov pointed out that the agenda of bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel in political, economic, security, energy, cultural, humanitarian, innovation, etc. fields, mutually beneficial relations, and efficiency of parliamentary diplomacy is the result of the efforts of the two countries in the development of relations.
Yuli Edelstein, chairman of the committee, spoke with satisfaction about the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Israel based on mutual respect, support and friendship, and expressed his belief that the opening of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Israel will serve to further strengthen relations.
During the meeting, the role of the Jewish community as a special factor affecting the development of relations between the countries was emphasized.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
