Azerbaijani FM meets outgoing Kuwaiti ambassador

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with outgoing Kuwaiti ambassador to Azerbaijan Abdullah Muhammad Almauidi on September 10, 2024 to mark the end of his diplomatic mission in the country.

The meeting focused on the agenda for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kuwait, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.

Bayramov expressed gratitude to the ambassador for his efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and wished him success in his future endeavors. The meeting highlighted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and friendly and brotherly Kuwait. 

The importance of enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation over these years was underscored. Emphasis was placed on intensifying the work of the joint intergovernmental commission to further expand ties in trade, economy, investment, tourism, and other areas. The need for continued mutual support within regional and international organisations, including the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, was also noted.

Bayramov thanked the ambassador for Kuwait's support of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and sovereignty during nearly 30 years of occupation of Azerbaijani territories. The ambassador expressed his appreciation for the reception and confidence that relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait will continue developing positively.
