Azerbaijani FM, new UNHCR rep discuss reconstruction in liberated lands PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with new representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Azerbaijan Bik Lum on April 4.
During the meeting, the minister informed Lum about the former Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and its results, one million Azerbaijanis who became refugees and internally displaced people as a result of Armenia's ethnic cleansing policy, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Report.
The minister also touched upon the intensive reconstruction process launched after the end of the conflict in the liberated Azerbaijani territories.
Bayramov stressed that Azerbaijan is determined to reintegrate the residents of Karabakh of Armenian nationality.
Despite Azerbaijan’s peaceful initiatives, Armenia continues committing military-political provocations.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.
