Azerbaijani FM, OTS chief discuss Iranian drone attacks on Nakhchivan UPDATED
On March 7, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanichbek Omuraliev, on the sidelines of the informal Council of Foreign Ministers session in Istanbul.
The leaders exchanged views on the escalating security situation in the Middle East, focusing particularly on recent drone attacks launched from Iran targeting Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Both sides condemned these attacks, stressing that such actions violate international law and exacerbate regional tensions, Castliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The meeting underscored the importance of enhancing solidarity and coordination among OTS member states in light of rising geopolitical challenges and the evolving international security environment.
Other issues of mutual interest were also discussed, reflecting the ongoing commitment of Azerbaijan and the OTS to strengthen political dialogue and regional cooperation.
