Azerbaijani FM reaffirms his country’s support for Palestinian statehood

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has highlighted the importance of solidarity in combating growing Islamophobia and reaffirmed Baku's support for Palestinian statehood.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, he expressed concern over the escalation of military conflicts in the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Bayramov called for intensified diplomatic efforts and joint action of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to counter discrimination and violence against Muslim communities worldwide.

He also congratulated Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on assuming office as Secretary-General of the OIC and spoke on preparations for the OIC summit, which will be held in Azerbaijan in 2027.
