Azerbaijani foreign minister engages in key diplomatic meetings at Antalya Forum PHOTO

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov engaged in a series of high-level discussions with key international figures during the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Türkiye, focusing on a range of global and regional issues, including intercultural dialogue, regional security, and international cooperation.

In one of his key meetings, Minister Bayramov met with Miguel Ángel Moratinos, High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, to discuss the continued cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN body, Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan told Caliber.Az.

The meeting highlighted the importance of intercultural and interreligious dialogue in addressing global challenges. Bayramov underlined Azerbaijan's active role in promoting such dialogue, particularly through initiatives like the Baku Process, which has fostered international cooperation on intercultural exchange.

Bayramov also provided an update on the post-conflict situation in the South Caucasus, outlining Azerbaijan’s efforts to establish peace and normalize relations with Armenia. He emphasized the ongoing obstacles to the peace process but reiterated the country's commitment to stability in the region.

Moratinos praised Azerbaijan’s consistent and active international policy in fostering intercultural understanding, and both sides agreed on the need for joint efforts to combat Islamophobia in the current global context.

In addition to his meeting with Moratinos, Minister Bayramov also held a productive session with Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

The two diplomats discussed enhancing multilateral cooperation within regional and international organizations, focusing on regional security concerns. The meeting underscored the shared commitment to strengthening ties between Azerbaijan and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, with both parties exchanging views on security dynamics in the region.

Minister Bayramov's diplomatic agenda also included a significant engagement with Shaya Zindani, the Foreign Minister of Yemen. The sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations and explored potential areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Yemen. Both ministers expressed a desire to deepen collaboration between the two countries, particularly in areas of mutual interest.
