Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry facilitates evacuation of citizens from Iran
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has swiftly stepped in to coordinate the safe evacuation of dozens of Azerbaijani citizens from Iran.
Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Aykhan Hajizada said that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Iran, the Consulate General in Tabriz, and the Embassy in Israel are actively addressing citizen inquiries received through their hotlines and taking all necessary measures, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He stated that, thanks to these efforts, 41 Azerbaijani citizens, including family members of embassy staff, have successfully crossed the Iran-Azerbaijan border.
“Our embassies and consulate continue operating and rendering assistance,” Hajizada added.
On June 13, the military operation launched by Israel against key components of Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure has escalated to a much harsher level. The objective remains the complete elimination of the Islamic Republic’s capability to develop nuclear weapons.
According to the latest data, the Israeli Air Force has struck more than a hundred targets, deploying approximately 200 combat aircraft and over 330 precision-guided munitions, according to official figures. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) emphasises that this is a large-scale, coordinated operation targeting both military facilities and the nuclear programme infrastructure across the entire territory of Iran.
