In addition, the sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The High-Level Week of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly is taking place in New York from September 22 to 30, 2025, bringing together heads of state, government leaders, and foreign ministers from around the world. Marking the 80th anniversary of the UN, this session is being held under the theme “Better together: 80 years and more for peace, development and human rights.”
In addition to issues on sustainable development, climate action, global health, gender equality, and the protection of minorities, High-Level Week also serves as a major diplomatic platform for bilateral and multilateral meetings on the sidelines of official events. Leaders use the occasion to advance their national interests, discuss regional issues, and strengthen international partnerships.
These gatherings provide an opportunity for states to assess progress on the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, renew commitments to multilateral cooperation, and address pressing global challenges from conflict to climate change.
