Azerbaijani, Hungarian NATO mission heads discuss NATO-Azerbaijan partnership
The head of the Azerbaijani Mission to NATO, Jafar Huseynzade, has met with the Hungarian Ambassador to the alliance, Istvan Balogh.
Jafar Huseynzade announced the meeting on Twitter on April 25, Caliber.Az reports.
"I was delighted to meet today with Ambassador István Balogh, the newly appointed Permanent Representative of Hungary to NATO. We had a good discussion on the NATO-Azerbaijan partnership, historic and strategic relations between our countries, as well as Azerbaijan’s role in the energy security of NATO Allies, especially Hungary," Huseynzade wrote.
He said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Bulgaria and participation of Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding by Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia on gas supply from Azerbaijan to Central Europe via Solidarity Ring was also on the meeting's agenda
"Azerbaijan is an important contributor to the development of energy infrastructure and diversification of gas supplies in Central and Southern European countries," Huseynzade concluded.
