Azerbaijani, Iranian FMs discuss bilateral ties, regional stability during phone talk
On March 12, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone talk, focusing on the strengthening of bilateral ties and regional issues.
The conversation provided an opportunity to discuss the current state of Azerbaijan-Iran relations and shared concerns about the regional situation, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
Bayramov emphasized the vital role of political dialogue in advancing bilateral relations and outlined the importance of joint projects in the energy, transportation, and investment sectors.
Both ministers agreed on the strategic significance of infrastructure projects, particularly those involving transport corridors through Iran. These initiatives are expected to enhance connectivity between Azerbaijan’s western districts and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, offering new prospects for regional development.
The role of the intergovernmental economic commission was also underscored during the call, as a crucial platform for promoting trade and economic cooperation between the two nations. Furthermore, both sides exchanged perspectives on other issues of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to continued dialogue and collaboration.
