Azerbaijani, Iranian top diplomats mull regional projects in Moscow PHOTO
Azerbaijani and Iranian Foreign Ministers Jeyhun Bayramov and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian respectively discussed relations between the two neighboring nations on the fringes of the Moscow meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Caspian Littoral Countries on December 5, 2023.
The two top diplomats mulled bilateral and regional issues, as well as the current situation in the area as well as the contribution of recent high-level meetings and inter-institutional contacts to the development of relations, Caliber.Az reports.
The parties discussed plans for the development and expansion of transport and communication corridors in the region. In this regard, the importance of speeding up activities was noted within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Azerbaijan and Iran on the creation of new communication links between the Eastern Zangezur economic region of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through Iran.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his colleague about the prospects of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the obstruction caused by Armenia, as well as the activities carried out in the region after the September 19-20 anti-terror measures in the Karabakh region.
To recap, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that efforts to arm Armenia are a threat to regional peace and stability.
