Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov engaged in discussions with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev during his official visit to Kyrgyzstan on April 9.

According to statements from the Foreign Ministry provided to Caliber.Az, the ministers commenced with a one-on-one meeting before expanding the dialogue to include delegations from both sides.

In the extended session, discussions encompassed a range of topics including bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), and the prevailing regional situation.

Emphasizing the multi-faceted nature of cooperation between the two nations across political, economic, trade, investment, transport, tourism, cultural, and humanitarian domains, it was underscored that substantial potential exists for collaboration within the Middle Corridor and through the Organisation of Turkic States. Additionally, prospects for cooperation in green energy production were explored.

Addressing regional dynamics in the post-conflict period, Minister Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan's reconstruction efforts and commitment to peace, condemning unilateral actions that undermine prospects for stability. Reiterating Azerbaijan's adherence to international law and the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty, he underscored the imperative of fostering peace in the region.

Kyrgyzstan's support for Azerbaijan's peace initiatives was acknowledged, with particular mention made of Kyrgyzstan's proposal to construct a secondary school in Khidirli village of Aghdam District, serving as a tangible symbol of solidarity.

Following the discussions, the ministers held a joint press conference to outline the outcomes of their meeting.
