Azerbaijani lawmakers hold official meetings in Georgian Parliament PHOTO
A high-level delegation from Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis (Parliament), currently on an official visit to Georgia, held a series of meetings in the Parliament of Georgia focused on expanding bilateral cooperation between the legislative bodies.
The delegation includes Arzu Naghiyev, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Defence, Security, and Anti-Corruption and head of the working group on interparliamentary relations with Georgia; Anar Isgandrov, Chairman of the Committee on Science and Education; and Shahin Ismayilov, Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sports, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The discussions also included exchanging parliamentary experience and exploring new avenues for collaboration.
Azerbaijan and Georgia have maintained close and strategic relations since gaining independence in the early 1990s. As neighbouring countries in the South Caucasus, their cooperation spans energy, transport, trade, and regional security. Interparliamentary relations have played a vital role in reinforcing these ties through dialogue, legislative collaboration, and mutual support in international forums.
