Azerbaijani leader praised by diaspora for shattering Western stereotypes, securing victory

Azerbaijanis living abroad have expressed deep gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, praising his leadership, diplomatic acumen, and decisive role in the Karabakh victory. Professor Aygun Attar, head of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Friendship, Cooperation, and Solidarity Foundation (TADİV), highlighted how Aliyev’s policies inspire the diaspora, foster national unity, and challenge Western stereotypes about the Muslim world.

Professor Attar emphasized that the strong cohesion surrounding the Azerbaijani leader reflects the aspirations of every diaspora member whose heart beats for their homeland, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

According to Attar, the “Iron Fist” of President Aliyev symbolizes the chronicle of Victory and embodies the unity and solidarity of both the nation and the state.

She highlighted the president’s foresight and extensive political experience, stating: “Intellectuals living outside Azerbaijan highly value the policies of President Ilham Aliyev, who consistently advances the interests of the homeland across a wide range of international platforms and events. The president sets an example for every Azerbaijani, and we are justifiably proud of him.” Attar also noted that the president has played a pivotal role in dismantling Western prejudices and stereotypes toward the Muslim world.

The TADİV head further explained that President Aliyev’s speeches instill a sense of national responsibility among diaspora members and inspire them to achieve success in their countries of residence. She also praised the president’s attention to sports and his contributions to fostering a healthy society.

“Contemporary Azerbaijan has become a recognized venue for numerous international sporting events,” Attar said. “A healthy society is the key to our country’s future achievements, a stimulus for accomplishing all stated goals, and a means to accelerate the restoration of the republic’s liberated territories. The ‘Great Return’ program requires mobilization, citizens with iron will, and unity of spirit for the sake of Azerbaijan.”

Attar described President Aliyev’s “Iron Fist” as a powerful barrier against the “fifth column” and foreign actors attempting to undermine Azerbaijan’s interests.

“Today, we are justifiably proud of our homeland, whose lands have been liberated and whose sovereignty restored, thanks to the heroism of the Armed Forces under the command of the Supreme Commander, President and liberator of Karabakh, Ilham Aliyev, who resolved the 30-year-old problem in just 44 days of the Patriotic War,” Attar said.

She underscored that Azerbaijan is led by a valiant president who achieved victory both on the battlefield and in diplomacy: “The Azerbaijani leader taught a lesson to all who dared occupy our lands. By driving the occupiers out of Azerbaijani territories ‘like dogs,’ President Ilham Aliyev, with the political and moral support of Türkiye, delivered Victory to the entire Turkic world. We are sincerely proud of a leader who inscribed a triumph of justice into Azerbaijan’s chronicle.”

Attar concluded by extending birthday congratulations to the Supreme Commander, acknowledging his gift of victory in Karabakh to every Azerbaijani: “Thank you, Mr. President, for never forgetting Azerbaijanis living far from the homeland and for allowing them to feel the moral strength of our state and the moral support of our people!”
