Azerbaijani minister: Armenia's militarisation threatens stability in South Caucasus
Azerbaijani Defence Minister, Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov has said that the continued militarisation of Armenia poses a serious threat to stability in the South Caucasus.
Hasanov made these remarks at a press conference following the 11th trilateral meeting of Turkish, Azerbaijani and Georgian defence ministers in Batumi, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
He highlighted Azerbaijan’s commitment to addressing regional issues collaboratively with neighbouring countries.
Hasanov expressed concern over Armenia's ongoing militarisation, emphasising that Armenia’s constitutional territorial claims against neighbouring countries, including Azerbaijan, combined with foreign interference through Armenia, could pose a significant risk not only to Azerbaijan but to the entire region.
