Azerbaijani minister, Council of Muslim Elders secretary general focus on preparations for COP29

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev has met with Secretary General of the Council of Muslim Elders Mohammed Abdelsalam.

The sides discussed preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), to be held in Azerbaijan this November, Caliber.Az reports citing the ministry.

COP29, the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), is slated to bring together policymakers, scientists, activists, and stakeholders from around the world to engage in critical discussions on mitigating climate change and charting a course towards a sustainable future.

Hosting COP29 represents a significant opportunity for Azerbaijan to showcase its dedication to environmental conservation and showcase its efforts in renewable energy, conservation, and sustainable development. The event will provide a platform for Baku to demonstrate its leadership in driving innovative solutions to combat climate change and promote global cooperation in tackling this urgent issue.
