Azerbaijani minister hails importance of different countries’ ideas on COP29 PHOTO

Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, President-Designate of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) has made a presentation in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The presentation on “Climate Consensus for COP29 – The Road to Baku” was made at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) on May 11, Report informs.

The minister drew attention to the climate change problem facing the world and spoke about the upcoming COP29 event in Baku.

He said that the COP29 team will bring together all partners in November to reach an agreement.

Noting that many countries are sensitive to the effects of climate change, the minister emphasised that Azerbaijan hopes to get the best results from this prestigious event.

“We met with public representatives in Islamabad. It is very important to consider every idea and initiative of different countries regarding COP29,” Babayev said.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, Pakistani Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam and Executive Director of Pakistan’s Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) Dr Abid Qaiyum Suleri attended the event.

Climate experts, scholars, diplomats and others also attended the event.
