Azerbaijani minister to address key global energy issues at Istanbul forum
Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov will participate in the upcoming International Energy Forum in Istanbul on November 22.
The event will bring together energy ministers from various countries, as well as representatives from international organizations, NGOs, academia, media, and the business world’s leading figures, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
Minister Shahbazov is scheduled to speak at the session titled “Challenges and Opportunities for a Sustainable Future”.
Other notable speakers at the forum include Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Bulgarian Minister of Energy Vladimir Malinov, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, Moldovan Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov, Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin, and Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic.
The forum, to be held at the Istanbul Congress Center, will address a broad range of critical energy issues. Key topics will include energy security, technological innovations, regional goals in the energy sector, and the role of Turkey in ensuring natural gas supply security. Additionally, discussions will cover energy transition financing and developments in oil, gas, and supply security.
A significant part of the event will be the main session, where President Erdogan, Minister Bayraktar, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, and Anadolu Agency’s Director-General and Chairman Serdar Karagöz will offer their insights. This session will provide an opportunity for global dialogue on energy-related challenges and opportunities.
The forum will kick off with the first session, moderated by Minister Bayraktar, under the theme “Challenges and Opportunities for a Resilient Future”. Minister Shahbazov and other key figures will participate in the discussion, addressing pressing issues in energy cooperation and sustainability.
Following this, the forum will continue with a special session hosted by BOTAŞ titled “New Dynamics of Gas Security: Regional Perspectives”, followed by sessions on “New Technologies and Fuels for Smart Energy Transition” and “Financing the Energy Transition: Expectations and Priorities”. The day will conclude with the “Anadolu Agency Appreciation and Evaluation Meeting”.
